Just a gorgeous hand carved eagle with wings unfurled, a wall-mount pocket watch holder or display plaque. It looks for all the world like antique Swiss Black Forest carving, but it would likely be vintage more than antique. Or perhaps an earlier carving someone has mounted with a metal back to turn it into a pocket watch holder. it may have decorated a box at one time. I just found it appealing and knew you would as well. Full measurements are noted on our photos.

Very good to excellent condition, as attested to by our photos. The wire hook is to hold the pocket watch. I didn't have one handy to put with it for photos. Will try to find and add a photo soon. I really find no chips, no cracks, no breaks. Very nice detail! Found in France.
